This medical oxygen mask is a dual-component molded part made of PP rigid plastic and TPE soft material, manufactured by 2K two-color injection mold.
PP material forms the main frame to maintain structural rigidity and shape stability, while soft TPE is applied on facial contact rim to achieve comfortable wearing and good sealing performance. Two materials are overmolded in one cycle with reliable adhesion, preventing peeling and separation during application.

Medical plastic components require strict control on appearance, dimensional tolerance and surface profile. With rich experience in precision 2K mold manufacturing, we optimize cavity layout, gating sequence, ejection and venting system to overcome typical defects such as short shot, air bubble and warpage on thin-wall curved parts.

How to Make a Two-Color Kids Step Stool Mold (PP+TPE)

A two-color kids step stool mold combines hard and soft materials in one product.

The hard part uses PP for strength and stability.

The soft part uses TPE for a non-slip, comfortable surface where children stand.

This mold is made with a 1+1 cavity layout.

One cavity molds the PP base, and the other molds the TPE overmold.

The injection machine has a 400-ton clamping force and a rotary table.

After the first shot (PP), the rotary table moves the preform to the second station.

Then the TPE is injected onto the designated areas.

This process creates a perfect bond between the two materials.

We use 1.2738HH steel for the core and cavity.

This steel offers excellent polishability, wear resistance, and uniform hardness.

It ensures long mold life and consistent part quality.
