Hello everyone, this is Sunny. Today I will show you the two-color flip cap mold for shampoo independently designed and manufactured by our factory. We customize molds for shampoo, body wash, hair conditioner and other daily chemical packaging brands.
Many daily chemical brands want differentiated packaging, while single-color caps look too similar on the market. Two-color products made by painting or secondary assembly come with high costs and are prone to peeling and delamination. 1. Core Technology of This Two-Color Shampoo Cap Mold

This mold supports PP+PP two-color materials and adopts a 180° rotary table two-color injection molding process:
  1. The first injection forms the threaded base of the cap. The precise thread fits tightly with the bottle to prevent leakage of washing liquid.
  2. The mold rotary table rotates 180 degrees accurately and transfers semi-finished products to the second injection station.
  3. The outer colored PP is overmolded in the second shot. The two layers of plastic fuse tightly under high temperature inside the mold without splicing gaps, so they will not separate or peel off after repeated opening and closing for a long time.

A two-color pepper shaker flip cap mold integrates two different colored PP materials into one finished seasoning lid in a single molding cycle.
The inner structural part adopts solid PP for stable structure, food-grade safety and excellent chemical resistance against seasonings.
The injection machine has a 280-ton clamping force and rotary table.
After the first shot of solid PP molding, the rotary table rotates the semi-finished inner part to the second injection station.
Then transparent PP material is overmolded onto the outer surface of the preform.
This rotary two-color injection process forms tight seamless bonding between the two PP layers, effectively preventing separation or peeling during daily repeated opening and closing.
We select 1.2344 pre-hardened steel for core and cavity, with P20H steel for the whole mold base.
This steel grade delivers superior mirror polishing performance, high wear resistance and consistent uniform hardness.
It extends long mold service life and maintains stable high-gloss surface finish for every transparent PP cap without scratches.
The double 8-point hot runner system balances plastic filling evenly across all 16 cavities, ensuring identical product weight and appearance for each lid.
It eliminates wasteful cold runner material and greatly improves the glossy surface quality, reducing visible weld lines and sink marks on transparent parts.
Cooling channels are professionally optimized to shorten molding cycle time and stop product warpage & deformation after ejection.
Full vent slots are reasonably distributed along the mold parting line to exhaust trapped air, avoiding burnt marks or bubbles on the transparent PP surface.
Every mold structure, sleeve ejection system and hot runner layout is fully validated via DFM report and Moldflow simulation before CNC machining, to manufacture safe, food-contact compliant, durable flip-top pepper caps for daily condiment packaging.
